Wow! It's been a while - and so much has happened. Since the last post in late 2020, I went back to work, our Lola girl turned two, and we added a new family member - Zayden. In fact, I write this as he screams from his crib, protesting a nap. Deja vu much?
Zayden was born on July 6th 2021, the day after Lola's second birthday. In fact I went into labour on her birthday! It's been six months as a family of four and I as a mother of 2. If you're wondering, the adjustment to two children is definitely harder than adjusting to one - in my humble opinion. But more on that later!
Samir and I have been enjoying life in our new home. Since he is still working from home, the extra space is much appreciated. I even ended up working from home in the last month before going on maternity leave. Though we've been in the house since July 2020, we're just starting to discuss changing a few things. First up, hopefully a king sized bed!
The pandemic still rages on and I have to admit I didn't think I would still be writing about that almost two years later - but here we are. We travelled for the first time since November 2019 for Christmas this year. What an endeavour!
While I am off on maternity leave, I have started to take some online courses. One of my life's biggest regrets has always been not completing my post secondary degree. It's never too late to go back to school right?
There's so much I could write about since its been so long, but my goals for 2022 are to have more consistent posts. My focus is on sharing life as a mother of two, providing helpful information, and becoming a safe space for all of us just trying to survive motherhood!
